Year 7 2026

We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7's and their families to our school community!

The first day of school for Year 7 2026 students is Monday 2nd February 2026.

Students should be at the school hall for an 8:45am start where they will be met by their Year Advisors. As this will be a very busy morning we ask that parents do not accompany their child into school please. Students will finish slightly early at 2:45pm.

Technology Requirements

All students are required to bring a fully charged laptop to school every day. Families are responsible for purchasing, configuring and maintaining the laptop.

Any laptop purchased must meet the hardware requirements listed below. If you have any questions about purchasing a laptop please contact the school.

• Must have a keyboard
• Must not be a Chromebook
• Cannot be a tablet of any sort including iPad
• WIFI must support Dual Band as the school wifi is all based on 5ghz
• Processor - minimum i5 for Windows devices
• RAM - minimum 16 GB
• Storage 256GB

Support and Compatibility

Laptops can be either Windows or macOS based.

Please note that Hornsby Girls' is predominantly a Windows environment. All on premises computers are Windows based and all staff expertise is Windows based. Students that choose an Apple device need to be able to maintain and operate it without assistance from the school.
